MUKHAMMAD OTAJONOV (born in Urgench in 1959), graduated from the Tashkent State con­servatory, having specialized in piano (class of N.Gienko) and composition (class of Prof. B.Gienko). M.Otajonov is the author of two concertos for piano and symphony orchestra, the сomposers of 3 movements for kanun and folk instruments or­chestra, and three stage compositions: l-"If eve­ryone were faithful" (Babur) (1992), 2-"Who will light my light?", 3-"Amorous hearts" tragicomedy (1994).

Famous chamber compositions of M.Otadjonov are 12 preludes for piano, four so­natas, "Ecstasy" for cello and piano. "Impromptu”, “Toccata” for violin and piano, the Suite of 3 movements for string quartet and symphony orchestra, "The Views of Khiva". The composer composed "The set of pieces for piano" dedicated to children, songs for children's chorus, songs for children's chorus a'cappella dedicated to children, and also wrote the music to "Sin" film. He was a laureate of the Young Composers competition (1985). In 1994 he was a prize-winner of the "Uzbekistan – my Motherland" competition. He is the author of more than 100 songs.
