The creative work of F.Alimov - famous Uzbek composer - comprises various genres. The composer successfully works in the field of symphonic, chamber-instrumental music, as well as in musical-stage genres, writes songs and music to dramatic performances. Musical-stage opuses, such as "Fatima and Zukhra", "Nodirabegim", "Soyib khoja operation", created by him, have greatly contributed to the development of musical theatre in Uzbekistan, and were highly appreciated by listeners. Another successful sphere of the composer's work is the music to dramatic performances. Particularly, a long stage life of such performances as "King Lear", "Electra", "Wonderful evening" was provided by not only a vivid literal dramatic composition of these works, but also a worthy participation of music.

F.Alimov pays a great attention to the song genre. Popular singers of Uzbekistan enter his songs on their repertoire with pleasure; the composer was also rewarded the title of laureate at many republic song competitions.

In latter years F.Alimov takes an active part in organization of prestige cultural arrangements. Among them we should particularly mention his role as a composer in music program’s, dedicated to the 660th anniversary of Amir Temur, 600th anniversary of Mirzo Ulugbek, 2500th anniversary of Bukhara, and at the music festival "Sharq taronalari" ("Melodies of East"). The name of F. Alimov is also popular in the general public in the light of television. He composed the music to such videofilms as "Yusuf and Zulayho" and "Scorpio from altar", beloved by the audience.

The music of F.Alimov is successfully performed not only in Uzbekistan, but also abroad. Working fruitfully as an assistant professor at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan, the composer passes his creative experience to the youth.
